Working in France at the moment, I notice how different the areas in France are and that it is true once again that the inhabitants of a country's capital are more arrogant than the rest of the population. In Alsace people are so nice that over the last few months I really started to like the French again. But then again, they are Alsaciens and don't really want to belong to France anyway.
OK, here are some points of advice for the "Capitaliens":
1. Learn other languages! - French is not the world's first language. Working in the airport, at the front desk of a 4Star hotel, at a German company you should at least speak as much EN so you understand what they want.
2. It's a burger - not only in the US but all over the world. What's a boeuf haché???
3. Advice to one sandwich store employee: When you have nothing anymore to offer to your customer, keep smoking your cigarette outside but don't tell her that the store is open, keep smoking and let her wait inside to come back after 3 min with the good news that you are out of everything and she could go and find some food somewhere else.
That is rude and non-professional!
4. If in a spa, most people want to relax. That's why no children are allowed in those places. Couples who have a marital fight are also not welcome there... At least not in most places. And it should be common sense to keep it down when there are other people who are trying to read. Yelling is not appropriate and back to 1. - Learn other languages or at least make the effort to try to understand foreigners who try to speak yours!
5. Roads are not only made for 1 Frenchman. There are other people. Drive accordingly. We are not in Disneyland where we have bumper cars!
So long... Two more days to go!
