Hi,
last night I was searching Amazon.com in order to find a calendar to bring back with me from NYC - where I will be going to for three days at the end of August. Well, I found lots of calendars that were named like "Goodbye George, a daily calendar", "2008 George W. Bush Out of Office Countdown Wall Calendar",...
None of the Germans have seen the movie "Man of the year" that heads into the same direction. Robin Williams is a comedian who runs for president and accidently gets elected due to an error in the computer-supported voting system. Does that remind you of something?
Having been in the US in May, I found lots of Anti-Bush stickers on cars and most Americans can't wait for him to leave. The stickers are simple like a crossed W, but also "I am not anti-Bush, I am pro-intelligence", "someone else for president" or "09_01_20, his last day".
Wow, I would have never thought that after he has been reelected those people who accidently (?) voted for him a second time - or was it an error in the computers? - were getting their senses back before he left the White House in 2009.
Pink! wrote a great song: Dear Mr. President. Wow, these lyrics really bring it to a point. How can he sleep at night when the rest of the Americans cry, how is he explaining the unreasonable death of a son in Iraq to his mother, would he not love his daughter if she were gay?
The best Anti-Bush commercial I have seen though was the Connecticut welcomes you sign on I-84 though. The sign had an addition that said: We apologize.
For those of you who don't know, George has been born in New Haven, CT.
What else is there to say? I am excited to get to Atlanta in November to check the American South and there obvious opinion on him since I have only been in the democratic North East to see how they do. As I recall though, Amazon.com is being used by Republicans also. :)
Cheerio!
